Week 1-Photo's of a building during construction
The following photos are of a commercial development in Pakington St, Geelong West, using concrete and steel construction. Consisting of 10 retail spaces and 4 office spaces, the work was carried out by Lyon Construction and designed by Peter O'Reilly.
Front Entrance
This photo shows the architectually designed front entrance with members that are more decorative than structural.
This is a view of the retail shops (ground level) and office space (top floor).
This a photo of various structural elements such as a UB, ceiling and fly bracing, purlins and timber studs. Welded cleats fix the UB to the purlins. The truss in the back wall consists of struts and webbing, which prevents distortion from lateral wind loads.
